Treats in a Muffin Tin

So, I don't own a muffin tin. But apparently I should.

I mean, look at these ridiculously delicious looking food items you can make in a muffin tin. Apparently I am going to go out and buy one and spend my summer on these fun little projects:

Gucci Simple Flounce Dresses

These pictures embody one of Gucci's fairly recent line of dresses. It is simple and elegant, and I'd say includes a ton of extra fabric in the most useful way. I imagine that fabric is of top quality but also a bit heavy. Still, they look refined and sophisticated, I'd want one if it wasn't at least a thousand for these (and by a thousand I mean definitley more than that).

Check out the dresses here.
And here.

Brent Stirton Photography

Some really powerful shots. Seems like he travels a lot and captures photos that reveal both the really gritty and harsh realities of life  and a vibrant images of cultures that become a powerful insight to a world different from our own.

Operation Beautiful

This is a great [foundation, group, movement?], not quite sure what it is exactly, but it's wonderful. Basically Operation Beautiful encourages people to write nice messages on sticky notes and post it so that random people or maybe people you love can see them and smile, feel more confident, and/or have a better day.

Side Note: anyone ever heard of The Happiness Project? I read this book for Psych, pretty good read. Recommendation made. Check website here

Compliments? No Thank You

Here's an interesting perspective on accepting compliments or I guess, lack thereof. I enjoy this blogger's voice, she (he?) makes me chuckle a certain points.

http://tikken.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/accepting-compliments/

Or here blogger Rachel Wilkerson provides her own mini lesson as to how to accept compliments. The things she mentions that we shouldn't do are definitely natural tendencies, because as I was reading this I realize that i personally impulsively want to say these things. I can see why one shouldn't though.

Here's yet another uh, straight to the point article on how to accept praise. Also an unique voice.

Alton Lane

Had the extremely fortunate opportunity to sit down at a dinner with a few others and Colin Hunter, one of the co-founders of Alton Lane.

Check out their official website here

The basic idea is to make the shopping experience better for the guy while catering specifically to each man's need through custom made fabric and cuts. Each session is through private booking and their showroom's have a bit of a man cave meets CEO office vibe to them.

Just my own personal thoughts: Colin Hunter is a really cool guy with the perfect balance of being a professional and a laid back dude. He has a great smile, is willing to talk to everyone about anything, really listens and provides excellent feedback. He tells good stories and is full of ideas, even now he is churning out ideas for other start-ups. If you are male, you should really consider shopping there for a well tailored customized suit for a solid price. Their showrooms have flatscreen TVs, leather couches, and a nice bar. Also their employees probably kickass because Colin is all about assembling an all-star team.

LGBT Rights - prop 8

I'm sure most people have seen the red equal signs that have been going up around Facebook.

This article explores the demographics of the support for gay rights.

It also includes some cute alternate forms of the equal signs:
